e-Government development towards a digital government, economy and society is an inevitable trend in many countries in the world. However, to realize it, governments need to have strategies in the early stage, Vietnam is no exception.
According to the United Nation report on the Electronic Government Development Index (EGDI) 2020, Viet Nam ranking is up 2 positions over 2018. Also, in 2020, Viet Nam inaugurated the National Reporting Information System, The Governmental direction and administration Information Center, and announcing the 1,000th public service on the National Public Service Portal. These are all new milestones in e-Government development in Viet nam.
In August 2020, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the National Committee on E-Government (E-Government) held an online conference with the Steering Committees for e-government development of ministries, sectors and 63 provinces and cities. At the conference, the Prime Minister clearly stated that, building e-government is a big initiative, in which technology enterprises play a key role. Each technology enterprise will make different contributions to the construction and enablement of a "digital Vietnam".
