Ambassador Nasrabadisaid that based on the long standing and historical ties with the countries of Southeast Asia, Iran will work towards enhancing its relations and cooperation with ASEAN, particularly in the fields of economic, trade, culture, science & technology and education. He added that Iran also attaches high importance to region-to-region cooperation and would like to promote greater collaboration between ASEAN and the Economic Cooperation Organisation.
Secretary-General Minh congratulated Ambassador Nasrabadi on his appointment as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to ASEAN. He stated that the accreditation reflects Iran’s commitment to pursue closer relations and cooperation with ASEAN. He updated Ambassador Nasrabadi on the progress of ASEAN Community building and informed him that ASEAN is making steady progress towards building an integrated, well connected, and people-oriented ASEAN Community by the end of this year.
Besides his role as Iran’s envoy to ASEAN, Ambassador Nasrabadi is currently the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of his country to Indonesia with residence in Jakarta.
